LEGS THAT FIT

oK, I CUT OFF THE LEGS ON THIS OLD GARAGE SALE PIECE. I THOUGHT I COULD PUT BIG CASTERS ON THE BOTTOM AND IT WOULD LOOK OK, WRONG. ANYWHO-THESE MODERN/RETRO LEGS WERE IN THE TRASH. I PAINTED THEM AND ATTACHED TO THE BOTTOM OF THE OLD FARM PIECE. I LOVE TINKERING AROUND WITH FURNITURE, THERE ARE SO MANY POSSIBILITIES.

Sassy Lamp

I found this hunk of a lamp...yes, on the side of the road. It was an ugly 80's lamp-now turned fabulous. (I think)-I would like to keep it myself but it doesn't go anywhere-If it doesn't sell I think I'll put it out on the porch next summer. The lamp shade I covered with some vintage fabric I have been wanting to use forever. Fabric glue worked great on the lamp shade-no mess, and the glue is invisible.

My Dilly Dally Booth

Dilly Dally is the current name of my little booth I have at an antique shop down the road. It's a work in progress. If I had more time it could be spiced up a bit more-but thats not possible right now. I have some more lamps/chandeliers I'm working on right now. The black beaded chandeleir is one of my favorites-kind of a copy of one in Domino or Cottage living, I can't remember. I want to thank Judy Fard for recommending this antique shop-Thank you.

junky to spunky cabinet

This cabinet was calling to me from the side of the road-I had to rescue it-Ok, not really but anyway it looked like an interesting challenge. After making some shelves to go inside/some paint/some wheels-I think it makes a very nice little supply cubbard.

Children's Bench

My fellow junker friend (Amy Stevens-down the road) called me and told me she had some junk she had to part with and thought of me-very kind. Hee, hee.- So she had this old foot board and rails but no head board-That's ok, I made a children's bench cutting and attaching the rails as the seat. In front of the children's seat is a bench/seat Amy gave me that needed to be recovered-white pleather and whalaa...

Urban Coffee Table

Here is a trunk I found in the trash-It has a Lieut.'s name on it-it's from the navy or marines, I'm not sure-anyway I put wheels (that I pulled off a coat rack from the trash) on the trunk and now we have a urban coffe table-I don't know if anyone will like it-Karen, the owner of the shop says she is going to buy it in a few months if no one else does. I'd like to put it in my living room also-we'll see.

Appleberry Farm

Oscar took a feild trip to Appleberry Farm last week with his preschool class. Oscar loved the tractor ride and rolling down the hill the most. Frannie took a liking to the roosters and chickens-

Wade and Ola Reception

We wished we could have visited more with Wade and Ola but with the kiddos and all of the little cousins running around it was busy, busy. We wished we would have gotten more pictures especially of Brent and Maureen with the band. The kids had a good time getting down to the music. Oscar couldn't get enough of the four wheeler.

Jenny is commissioned as an officer-Yeah!!!!Jenny

Congratulations Jenny! We drove to Swansea two weeks ago to see Jenny at her commissioning ceremony. With a six hour drive, the car overheating on the way, we made it. Oscar learned how to put water in the mmm...I don't know the name but some cap over the cracked radiator. Oscar made sure to tell me, "mom, don't touch if its hot." Our visit was short but sweet. We topped off our visit with some 10th street cake in Belleville,Il. That's Jenny's favorite cake and we all can taste why. Thanks to Uncle Ralph for helping us to get the car to a mechanic before we left. Good Times.

on the curb

This is a great piece I just found all by its lonesome on the side of the road. With a fresh coat of paint this baby is ready to sell-I've got to get it over to the antique booth tommorow along with a 70's chandelier I just finished painting.

get r going

Here is Oscar's larryboy costume in the making.
